Exporting MIDI to Logic Pro

• Nov 23, 2024 - 12:53

I do this a lot and I haven't found a way to avoid a lot of hassle getting things to translate to Logic Pro. I uncheck Export RPNs, but it doesn't do much to make life easier. I have found the easiest thing is to just make new tracks and copy and paste the content. If I use the tracks created buy the midi file, I have to 'Separate by MIDI channel', then I have to open in the Event Editor, uncheck Notes, select all, and erase all the extraneous data. Despite all that, I still find the tracks linked to to each other for pan and volume and often volume settings that I can't find. It could take a good part of an hour to do this, depending of course on how many tracks there are. Also, in Logic the Output is often off. I think it was easier with Musescore 3.

I just wonder if anyone can tell me any shortcuts or has found a way to do this more efficiently.
