Musescore shows wrong glyphs in lyrics: Japanese kanji instead of Chinese han

• Nov 27, 2024 - 21:02

I'm working on a score with Chinese lyrics, but the characters get displayed as Japanese kanji (they displayed correctly on musescore.com AFAIK). Basically the reverse problem that what's described in this blog post: https://heistak.github.io/your-code-displays-japanese-wrong/

I noticed that last year a UI issue where the Japanese UI appeared with Chinese glyphs was being discussed (https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/17740). Could it be that they just defaulted all glyphs to appear as Japanese Kanji and as a result Chinese han characters get kanjified in the lyrics? Or has it something to do with my OS configuration?

Disclaimer: I'm not fluent in Chinese nor Japanese and can't read them, my UI is in English.
