Any way to change rest appearance to Renaissance/Mensural Style?

Hi, I'm wondering if there's any way to change the appearance of rests to fit those of mensural notation? I'd like the semibreve rest to appear as a short line hanging from the 4th stave line up, and the minim rest to be a short line coming up from the 3rd.
