playback not working

I'm trying to listen back to files I've written and no matter how I change the audio output no instrument sounds come through. The playback cursor moves as if its working, and I even get the metronome. I tried updating, tried reloading plug-ins, etc. I have the MDL plug-in installed and selected and nothing. I've just made some changes to an indoor percussion score and can't listen back to it.

Second place is the How To's (https://musescore.org/en/howto?version=All). Try https://musescore.org/en/node/96811 and https://musescore.org/en/node/339915 for your specific issue. If none of this works, come back and explain EXACTLY what you did and how the system responded. (Details! Details! Details!)
