why is Musescore 4 automatically adding extra beats to measures I'm trying to edit?
I'm trying to edit quarter notes into 8th notes and the software is automatically adding beats into the measure. How do I stop this? thanks

You may have inadvertently enabled insert mode. You should normally use the default Step time mode.
