A common beam over notes and rests

Included here is the original measure on the right with a beam covering four notes AND three rests.
On the left is what I can torture out of Musescore. The beam does not stretch over the 1/16 rests on either side.

I've found the palettes under menu item View but no option lets me make the beam go from here to there.

Is it possible to stretch the beam out to cover all four notes and all three rests as in the original?
