Functionality Loss in the Footer
Original Post: https://musescore.org/en/node/374407
Hey folks, I have been engraving with MuseScore Studio since version 3.4. I have a particular way of engraving my footers that I have never had any problems with, at least not up until version 4.2. I'm currently running version 4.4, and this functionality seems to be lost.
What I do is I use the left and right sections of the footer for lyricist/composer info etc. and the center for the "$C" copyright tag. I simply hit enter on the left and right sections until they are pushed upwards enough that they don't collide with the copyright tag.
However, in version 4.4, attempting to use the enter key to move the left and right sections upwards does nothing. Even adding spaces or invisible spacer characters does nothing. An actual piece of text is necessary to create a new line.
While I can select the center (copyright) text and bump it downwards using the Properties panel, it doesn't save and is back where it started when the file is reopened (Much like editing part names using the properties panel).
Hoping this small issue can be resolved quickly!
Thanks!
ARH
UPDATE: I posted this some months ago, and the problem has worsened. With the advent of MS4.5, my one workaround (selecting the copyright text and bumping it downward via the properties panel, then exporting right away since that change won't save with the file) is gone, and I can no longer create my sheet music properly. I reiterate that hitting enter in the footer does not move the text—it requires a line of text to do so. Thus, the footer is now fully broken.

I am going to create a bug on GitHub for this and fix it. Hopefully for 4.5.2.

Awesome, appreciate it!
Possible workaround ... that you might have already tried? *shrug*
Instead of using just Return to move the left and right footers up, try typing Space, Return. Or . (period), Return and then set the color of the period to be the same as your background (since we can't set it to be transparent anymore :-(

Spaces don't work. What's the syntax for specifying the color?

Tried this extensively. Spaces and even invisible spacer characters don't work. I attempted to use like a period and change the color, but to do that you need HTML tags and I couldn't get that to work.

I've looked quickly at the code and don't think there is a way to change the color (unless I've missed it). The supported tags I saw are: sym, b, i, u, s, sub, sup, font size=... and font face=... On the positive side the fix for the issue is already in review. :)
