Three years ago, my 15 year old daughter, Amanda, won the South Carolina Junior Composition Contest for her composition, Mariposa Waltz for Flute and Piano. It was then sent on to the Southeastern Regional Contest to be judged along with the other 56 entries and was also declared the Regional Winner! Tomorrow night she will perform it using an accompaniment made with MuseScore 2.0 Beta for the talent portion of Eastside High School's Beauty Pageant. Thank you to all the developers who made this possible!

Congratulations and thanks for sharing.
When MuseScore.com will be adequate to get the scores created with the new version would be nice to have a category "Young Talent".
Brava Amanda!

If you're daughter loves playing the flute, I've composed several pieces both for solo flute and flute & piano. They don't emphasize technicality but rather the femininity of flute-playing, and depending on her personality type, she might like them. If you're interested, let me know and i'll post the scores here...

Actually listened to the piece and was taken back by the melodic simplicity. It's very fluid and feminine (altho I didn't see any spaces for breaths), and quite graceful. For a young female composer, it was very delightful to hear. And the simplicity of the sound made it easy on the ears and the sanity.

A sweet and comforting piece for Sunday afternoon. I would have loved to have heard it live.
