Program crashes using tuplet (ctrl+3) on MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard

I have a problem with Musescore version 0.96, Revision 2675, when trying to write a tuple. With Snow Leopard the system crashes as though I had used the yellow button to minimize the program. I note in the forum other folks have had problems using Snow Leopard.
