Chordnames don't copy and paste to new score.

• Mar 8, 2010 - 19:06

r2811.

I have a master score.
I extracted a C part (single staff from a grand staff) and entered lyrics and chordnames on it.

I then copied the the c part and pasted it back into the score.

Lyrics and melody notes copied successful.

However chordnames did not paste.

I went back to the C part, selected a chordname, right-clicked and selected "all similar elements. All chordmnames in the part were selected. I Ctrl-c'd them and tried to paste in the score.

No success.

Regards.

1st, there's an error in the initial post, I extracted the entire grandstaff. Going back is where I selected a single staff.
However, someting very strange has happened.

I'll consolidate description here.
1. Have masterscore, piano and 5-line drumpart. (A)
2. Extract the piano part. (B)
3. enter lyrics and chordnames to the extracted part.
4. Attempt to copy all of extracted part's (B) treble staff back to the original score (A).

Result: notes and lyrics copy, not chordnames, even after save and reload.

I then tried just selecting the chordnames as explained in the 1st post.

So, Failing that, I thought I'd try copying in the reverse direction.

1. As the master score had bars for an intro written, space for that had to be made on (B), and was.
2. Go to (A), copy the piano staff (grand) .
3. Go to (B) to copy it.

Result, entire part, INCLUDING non-visible chordnames are copied. Now I've got 2 sets of chordnames. One set is for sale, very cheaply.

Regards.

So, next I deleted the initial (B) part from the (B) file.

It did quite well, with one exception - all the old articulations were saved and shifted into the new copy, which was differently placed so I had all these spurious articulations.

The good news is, a save and reload cleared that up.
