Can't see / type text

My problem is I just downloaded the software, but I can't put in any text, wether it is a title or songtext.
What happens is, I get a little blue square in which I should type the text I suppose, but all you see that can be done is a tiny dot after I'm finished typing text.

I suppose I should change something in the program, but I don't know what. I really hope someone can help me so I know how to change the settings for this, if the problem lays there. If I can't put text in, this software is as good as useless to me.

I guess I have the latest version to download, 0.9.5, since I downloaded it this week.
