Instrument-specific pallet
I got this idea reading the earlier post on conga symbols, but didn't want to clutter up the request.
Would it be possible to have a section of the pallet that had symbols pertenant to the currently selected staff. ie. If the staff selected is a violin, the bowing indications would be there, if it is a piano, the pedal indications are there. There are many many special symbols that only pertain to a few instruments and to group them all together in one big mess only makes them all hard to find. If you're writing a wind trio, you probably don't need to see the accordian symbols and they just get in the way.

It's an idea.
Just in case you don't know :
- Drums palette works more or less this way
- You can customize palettes. If you will never used accordion stuff you can remove the Symbol palette or delete the symbol you don't use.
In my earlier feature request 'enhanced staff properties', we had a longish discussion on the possibilities (also pro's and con's) on being able to assign any one staff to specific instrument - even after the music for that voice was already composed. As far as I understand (I haven't been able to try it yet), revision 2726 allows this facility.
