Write on scores (freehand)

• Mar 17, 2015 - 01:35

I'm sure this is a lot harder than it sounds, but I'd love it if there was a way to write freehand on scores and have my pen-strokes saved to the score (I use a pen-tablet for art programs pretty frequently, and when i write music with musescore I often wish I could write down chord symbols, circle things, write in different colors, etc. just like I can when writing music on paper (but alas! I don't have enough printer ink/paper to print out blank sheet music paper all the time).

I can type text under the staff as it is, but I need to already have voices/rests written out. And when I'm planning a composition, I don't have any of those things written. After writing the bass line I can use ctrl-l yrics system to write out the chords I'm gonna use, but of course if I delete the bass line or change rhythms the "lyrics" go away and I'm once again without my Roman Numerals. And of course, I'd also like to circle the dissonances/suspensions/special cases (like seventh chords, irregular doubling or resolution, etc. The list goes on and on). I think it'd be really useful even if it is hard to do.
