midi input

hello

Windows XP
Midi keyboard controller: Roland PC200.
Midi adapter: USB Midi Mate
Soundfont: Realfont_2_1.sf2
Soudcard in PC: Soundblaster 128.

I think I'll try to ask these questions again since I'm still puzzled..

1. In Musescore, why can I only hear one note at a time, and not a chord when I use the midi keyboard controller?

2. suppose I have not installed Musescore and just want to use the computer to play the piano. According to all the instructions I can find on the net, it should be fairly easy, - but I can't get a sound out of it ?
