MIDI keyboard
I am using MuseScore 9.6 on Windows 7. I have a Yamaha PSR-E203 YPT-200 keyboard with MIDI. I am trying to use the MIDI function as described in MIDI keyboard under Note Entry in the handbook. I've followed the directions for both the keyboard and the MuseScore software exactly, and I still can't make it work. I get as far as #6 in the instructions with no problem. Then, in #7, when it comes to pressing a note on the MIDI keboard to add it to the score, nothing happens. Please advise. Thank you.

You see your keyboard in Edit -> Prefences -> I/O -> PortMidi ?
Are you using Windows 7 64 bits edition?
Thank you for your reply. As I noted at the beginning of my initial message, I am using MuseScore 9.6 on Windows 7. My Windows 7 is 64-bit.
I tried what you suggested, i.e., going to edit>I/O--but I don't know what to do with it. My keyboard doesn't appear in the I/O window.

Are you sure your keyboard is detected by windows? You may have to install a driver.
