How do I connect a quarter note to two eighth notes connect by a beam?
Hi!
I am trying to work on something that has a quarter note attached to the first eighth note of a two eighth-note beam, but I have not figured out how to do so in Musescore. I can always attach two more eighth notes to it and tie them together and get the same effect, but I'd rather just have the quarter note. How can I do this (if I can) in Musescore?

Can you attach a pitcture of what you want to achieve? I don't get what you mean by connected the quarter to the eighth, a quarter does not have beam.

Sure!
I guess I didn't quite explain it right, not really connected, but as a chord. I meant the eighth notes were connected by a beam, but that's really irrelevant I guess since I haven't been able to do it with a single eighth note and quarter note either.
Oh, and please forgive me for my picture! Art isn't quite my forte :)

One more question: is there anyway to remove the additional rests? Eg to put a quarter note on the third beat, I have to put in two rests before it. Is there a way I can remove them?

Right Click on them and select "set invisible".
