force single staff on midi import
Newbie here, though I did search the forum w/ no luck.
I'm trying to import a simple midi file, which is the melody of a song, to create a lead sheet. What I did was File/Open then select the .mid file. However, it opens with notes on the treble and bass clefs, and I only want a treble clef. Is there any way to force it to just put all the notes on the treble clef?
Is there another recommended approach?

You midi file contains 2 tracks. That's why MuseScore creates two staves. The only way I can think of is to retype the leadsheet from the two staves you obtain.

That was it. Technically, it was one "track", but I had inadvertently created notes on two channels within the track. Once I corrected that, the import went as expected.
