bass clef notes showing up on treble clef

• Aug 24, 2010 - 04:23

Hi, my question is very basic. When I hook up my keyboard, I find the notation software only puts the notes on the treble clef.

So I can play the lowest C on my keyboard, but it's being put on the treble clef (with a ton of ledger lines to indicate the lowness) -- rather than being put on the bass clef like it normally should.

I must be doing something wrong...can anyone help?

I'm not a pianist but I guess there is not a given point on the keyboard where on the left you play with left hand and on the right you play with the right hand. No? So musescore can see you playing and so can't figure out that your left hand is playing these notes and your right hand these other ones.
To enter note in the bass clef, exit note entry mode (Esc), click on the first rest in the bass clef, press N to enter the note entry, and you can enter the notes.

Perhaps you need to click on a rest in the Bass clef staff and then the program will understand that that is where you want the note placed.
