Word/Lyric run-on underline doesn't continue.across systems

• Sep 21, 2010 - 18:57

Using 0.9.6.2 and based on the standard 4-part choral template.

If I run an underline to show that a syllable is to be sung through a number of notes the underline stops at the end of the system on which it starts. It needs to be possible to continue it onto subsequent systems as otherwise there are notes at the beginning of the following system with apparently no lyrics or underlay. The same applies for hyphens, which ought to be repeated if the syllable continues across the end of a system. (Also, ideally, hyphens should repeat at intervals along a line if a syllable extends for more than a few notes but that's more of a nice to to have than a bug.)

Here's a random scan.
The left-hand page in particular shows the use of multiple hyphens to continue a syllable on long passages and across systems.
It's also normal to put a hyphen before a syllable before the first syllable on a new line if there was a hyphen on the line before (i.e. if it's a continuation of the same word) even if it's the first note of the new line. See bar 34 (3rd part down) for an example.
The same bar (5th part down) shows an underline running onto a new system, which was the original reason for my post.
(Sorry I didn't spot the earlier problem report - I was searching for underline (as in the manual) rather than melisma.)
