Musescore Songbook - please don't drop an octave when climbing up the transposition ladder

• Sep 22, 2015 - 00:38

Firstly, apologies if this is the wrong forum for putting in requests for changes to Songbook - I can't find a similar forum on the Android site.

To transpose a song in Musescore Songbook you select the 'transpose' button and climb up the keys (F to F# to G to G#..... and the notes of the song move appropriately.

BUT at some stage in the process, even though you've gone up another semitone, the notes go down 11 semitones - i.e. up a semitone and down an octave.

This is a right pain for a sax player like me when the result is notes below B flat, the lowest playable on a sax.

Can this irritating feature (bug?) be suppressed please - or at least introduce a sensible limit on when this dropping (or rasing) by an octave happens - maybe when it involves more than three ledger lines above or below the stave maybe?

Thank you for your feedback. We have on our todo list the ability to transpose by one octave up or down. I believe it should solve your problem.
