• Dec 13, 2010 - 16:22

I just love da sound of many of da orchestral instr here. CorAnglais and low brass could be bettered .The tubular bells, and timpani and trumpet, flute are perfection only Vienna s has better samples.I love Muse .It has inspired me to write more and more orchestral tone poems. I am truly in debt to this wonderful, inspiring site.
I 've been working da most on a 6 cello piece inspired by memories of Pierre Boulez but it is taking the most out of me!! My violin concerto in 5 movements is quickly coming along.Bass Clarinet concerto in works and of course my principal instr PIANO concertante and a serious PIANO CONCERTO.Radulescu,Finnissy,so many inspire me daily!!!

Is this piece finalized? Are you the composer? Feels like an allegro part should come next in fugal/canonic (prelude) style. In my minds eye I can hear a loud crash of something followed by fast moving strings (tremolo) with brass (in longer duration notes) entering one at a time. After a climax point of the whole orchestra I picture a sudden silence will a single soft note held on by a flute or violin leading into a slower and softer section after that. Thats just my opinion...

I like the idea of an allegro occuring maybe in the middle of the piece a type of flurry of materiality before final nothingnes.I 'm gonna use this idea .I want 3 movements but I want a more delicate orchestration like in Berg's 7 last songs.Which are really amazing! I 've added harpsichord ,solo violin but i am thinking about brass as a apotheosis of shining harshness at the inn as all is disfigured and finally transformed into everything else.
Go to youtube hear Desentagration by Tristan Murail. It is some of the most fantastic, delicate weaving imaginable. music I know of. This is only a second sketch.Maybe liszt's Funerailles can have bassoons and staccato oboes in reminding us of the fast footfalls of the horses. I hope to be done in a week if I work everyday on it!!!
