Spacing out of bars
Hi there,
When I create a new score of about 16 bars (so it goes on to two lines) then when entering notes in order, the bars on the second line are always longer than on the first line, and hence are more spaced out. I've tried Layout->Reset Positions and Layout->Reset Stretch with the whole piece selected, but they seem to do nothing. Is there any way to make the bars of roughly equal length and more evenly spaced out?

Have attached a PDF showing the problem. There are 8 bars on the first line but only 4 on the second. Surely there should be 6 bars on each line?

Thanks very much for your answer - that does help - but isn't there/shouldn't there be a way of getting the correct spacing automatically? The default, as in the attached, does look very odd, especially when all of the bars are the same so they should be all the same length.

There is no automatic way for the moment. If you have an idea of the algorithm, your contribution is welcome.
