Sleepers Awake

• Jan 10, 2011 - 00:42

This is the 4th movement from Bach's Cantata 140. I have been a pianist and clarinetist for years, but I am relatively new to composing, so this arrangement represents a lesson in harmonization and counterpoint for me. Any comments, criticisms, and suggestions are greatly appreciated.

i like your harmonization, esp. the last four bars.

i think you've got the right idea with the clarinet 2 at rehearsal 9. What about continuing the motion, sticking with eight notes and continuing down the scale?

Why double the third for the last chord when you could make clarinet 2 play an "a?"
