12 notes for small orchestra by EARL MARTIN

This goes in and out of revision. It needs to be longer with moew contrast between sections and more thrilling textures like the work of the spectralists Tristan Murail and Grisey. My struggle is too bring the black american tradition of Ellington and bebop into my compositional style .The forms of sonata allegro, rondo etc. will benefit I imagine from the new tonal prophile. this work needs less of a pulse a sense of emerging textures. Will have to use much more complicated rythms obviously. ReaLLY these are notes for myself . Transitioning as all must !

exciting brooding waiting for something to emerge out of it and take flight like a traditional hero, only to to collapse, leaving so many questions unanswered. don't take that the wrong way the collapse is purely figurative. marvelous work
