runtime error with tuplets

I 'm trying to create a triplet rhythm pattern out of the default rests and I encounter an error and the program crashes. I can get around it but entering a note first and then creating the triplet but i just wanted to report this. I'm running version 0.9.6.3 on Windows 7.
