[trunk] "File operations" toolbar: split in two?

• Mar 20, 2011 - 11:57

The "File Operations" toolbar, in addition to buttons for operations which clearly relate to files (New, Open, Save and, possibly Print) contains other buttons for operations which are not related to files, namely Undo, Redo (Editing) and Zoom (Viewing).

All functions, except Zoom, have standard menu or keyboard alternatives and turning the toolbar off would save a little precious bit of screen real estate (I don't know why, but the toolbars I need do not fit in a single row in Light or Native style, while they do in Dark style, which is the least readable though).

However for Zoom, the toolbar is needed, as the menu or keyboard alternatives are too coarse (from 100% down to 58.8235% or up to 170% is too much (58.8235? 170%? where these figures come from?) ).

I wonder if it would be possible / preferable / ... to split the toolbar in two, Files and Zoom or Files and Editing ( including Undo, Redo and Zoom) which could then be turned on/off independently.

Thanks,

M.
