Musescore 2 & windows 10

• Feb 21, 2016 - 12:56

I have been using the Musescore 2 latest version on Windows 10 for a while with no problem.
All of a sudden it will not now run. I have tried everything I can find on the internet for solutions but it still will not run.
I have just downloaded it to my wife's laptop (Win 10) and it works perfectly. My internet protection software is Bit-defender and I have checked the Trusted Applications and the musescore.exe file is there.
I have tried the windows compatibility fixes but no success.
Can anybody help please.

Thank you for your reply.
I started the Task manager when the program was started but MuseScore 2 doesn't appear anywhere in the task manager processes.
I tried "Start new Task and used the MuseScore 2.exe from the Bin folder and it still didn't show up.
I have done the -F solution and that doesn't work I have also in the past had AVG but uninstalled it and all the folders etc.
I have been into the command mode and through the directories to MuseScore.exe file but can't remember how to run a program from DOS
I am at a loss as what to do next

Hello Everybody
Thank you everybody for your help.
I have tried everything including the regedit (which I can now run .msi files as administrator).
I think I have found out what the trouble was. I have the program IOBIT systemcare 9 and some of the parts I had set to automatically work and I think it was this that stopped MuseScore from working. so disabling the auto functions of systemcare and also changed the firewall to windows the program runs fine. I have put the bitdefender firewall back on and all of a sudden I can't run MuseScore once more. Sorted, even though MuseScore is in Trusted applications it will not allow it to run.
Thank you everybody, much obliged and hope this helps anybody else having problems.

Hello once again
definitely bitdefender firewall. Just turned the BD firewall back on and MuseScore would not run.
Checked in the BD Firewall setting, turned the firewall on and then checked the RULES tab. No musescore.exe there so I browsed and added the musescore.exe to the rules to allow any network any protocol and everything is now fine.
Can't understand why it has been working fine previously and then suddenly stop but there you are.
Bye for now.
