Introducing notes with letters: how to choose the pitch?
Introducing notes withe the keyboard, I did not find any easy way to tell Musescore that the next note is higher (or lower). So I have later to select it and transpose by an octave.....
of course I can also just put the note at the right place with the mouse....

or you can read the manual :-) http://musescore.org/en/handbook/accidental
Press C then Ctrl + "up arrow" to raise one octave.

...and although there is a french version, which is very convenient for me, I searched for "transposition", and could not imagine i would find octave transposition in a paragraph about accidentals....
It's true indeed that when using a new prograqm it's a good idea to begin with reading the whole manual, which I did, but at high speed!
thanks

French manual has been updated as well : Saisie des notes, silences et accords
I copied the information on octaves from the accidental page to the note entry page of the handbook where it better belongs.
