screenshot mode - save as ...?

In Screenshot Mode, you get two Save As options when you right-click a selection:

Save As (print mode)...
Save As (screenshot mode)...

What's the difference? The 'Save as type' options (PDF, PNG, SVG .. with PNG being the default) are the same. When I saved the same snippet as .png, the apparent result was the same (i.e., same dimensions in pixels and same file size).
