Cut time and pickup measure

When creating a new score, cut time is not an option. When I create a score using either 4/4 or 2/2, with a quarter note pickup measure, when I drag over the cut time symbol (preferred for Irish reels) to replace the 4/4/ or 2/2, it adds a dotted half rest to the pickup measure, thus creating a full measure.

I'm still using version 1.3. Is there a work-around for this? Or is this something I'll need to go to version 2.0 to remedy?

You can change the pickup measure back to 1/4 by right clicking and choosing Measure Properties, then change actual duration.

BTW, in 2.0, you will be able to select the cut time symbol in the new score wizard. Also, changing the time signature of the pickup measure from 2/2 to cut time will preserve the actual duration as 1/4.
