It doesn't look like the glissando lines up correctly for cross staff notes. Attached is the best I got.

Since glissandos only work between two notes of the same staff I used Cross staff beaming . Both notes are technically associated with the top staff.

If I paste a picture on it instead of real gliss., how do I associate the picture with single staff?

Pictures are associated with the page instead of a staff or note so they do not move with changes to the music layout.

I suppose you could use a plain line to approximate the glissando and use staff text to write "gliss."

Your suggestion is excellent. I woul add, even if most probably everybody knows already, that it is possible to increase the thickness of the line for a different visibility, like in the attached file.
