Crash before it even starts in Windows 7 64 bit
I just installed 0.9.6.1 but have yet to be able to run it. The Musescore title screen comes up and then the program crashes. I tried running as an admin to no avail. I also uninstalled, redownloaded and reinstalled. Restarting the computer also had no effect.
Any suggestions?

Did you upgrade from an older version?
If yes can you try to Revert to factory settings

No, this was my first install. I did try the revert to factory settings instructions eventhough i'd never actually run the program but still nothin'.

Thanks! What about the I/O tab ? And what's the path of the soundfont in Display -> Synthesizer?
You tried to run MuseScore normally after your "success" with mscore -s ?
In reply to Thanks! What about the I/O by [DELETED] 5
Oops, here is the I/O tab.
Synthesizer is grayed out in the Display pulldown menu so I can't select it. Selecting it is how I would see the soundfont path right?
I have tried, without success, to run MuseScore normally.
By the way, thanks for the help.

Got it!
I had some weird Digidesign service running called "Digidesign MME Refresh Service". When I disabled that MuseScore opened just fine with playback.
The Digidesign thing came from the other day when I was trying to get my old Mbox to work on my 64 bit Windows. It never worked. I was already sure I'd never buy another Digidesign product again but I guess here's another reason.
Thanks again for the help! Can't wait to really get into this program.

wow! that's a nice find! Apparently portaudio does not play nice with Digidesign Service. Good to know!
