second voice with another duration

• Oct 27, 2010 - 10:43

Hi!I have problems introducing a second voice with another duration.I have the version 0.9.6.3 Windows XP 32.I try to write for guitar and for piano.
I went to the manual of the handbook(both online and local),and tried to do what is writen by:
-First writing the first voice,a quarter-note on the top
-then click the button 2 and after this
-click the button 6 to get a half note
-click on Note entry N(as nothing worked,I tried alsa to click first on Note Entry N)
-then write the name of the note with the muse(or manual,Itried this also)
But intead of adding the second voice to the first voice ,it reemplace the first voice or write the second voice after the first voice. So I can write one note above or under the other, but not with a different duration. What is my mistake?
I have no special buttom 2,I press on the usual number 2,like the other numbers.Do I need a special buttom?
Thanks

Thank you a lot ! Like you said,I surch now the N note entry by display, and this was the correct note entry. It looks like yours,I've got the buttons,I alredy wrote four voice with different duration, and now I will with pleasure experiment it.Again thanks, you helped me a lot !

It appears I have the same problem. I follow exactly the directions for adding a second voice, but it doesn't work. Even though the second voice button is selected, I am only able to modify the first voice. Should the cursor change colors when I select the second voice button?

Hi !I got a answer from lasconic which helped me.Ididn't change any colour, but I went to Display, then Note input, and there I found on the left N for note entry to enter, and on the right these already coloured number 1,2,3,and 4,for each voice, clicked to the number of each voice that I wanted, then clicked manual on the keyboard for the number which show the duration of the note that I want. The same for each other voice. And it works ! I wish you also good luck

Thanks for your replies, guys. I was in fact in note entry mode, but it still would not work. Moments ago, however, I tried it again, and it worked! I figured that the cursor would change colors for each distinct voice, and now I see that it does. I'm not sure what happened, but at least it worked now.
