Selecting notes within a chord
Is it possible to select a group of chords, and then filter them to select (for example) only the bottom note of each chord? The only option I've found is to manually select each bottom note.
I've not found mention of this kind of filtering in the manual or on other threads - but apologies if it's there and I've missed it.
Thanks

There is no such filtering option, but is it possible what you are really trying to do is "explode", as per Edit / Tools / Explode? That is the main use case I can think of for something like you describe. See the Handboo under "Tools" for more information.

Many thanks, Mark. In fact that doesn't do what I wanted, but is good to know.
Essentially I've got a long series of close-position triads (about 60 in a row), and I want to add an extra root note (an octave lower) to each chord. It seems like I'll have to manually select each root note & then add the lower note. I wondered if I could select all chords, filter for the bottom note, then select "add octave lower" just once.
Looks there's no short-cut. But thanks for the suggestion, and for introducing me to "Exploding".

I suppose you could add two temporary staves, do the Explode, selec the notes on the bottom staff, press Alt+8 to add notes an octave above, Ctrl+Down to drop it an octave, then select all and Implode. If you've got just a handful, that's not very efficient, but it's better than doing it 60 times, if you haven't done it already :-)

I have done it already, but I wish I'd spoken to you first. That's a great idea. I may have to do the same in the future (don't ask why...), so now I know how to save myself a lot of stress.
Many thanks
