Dynamics above staff
The problem is that I inserted lyrics first and then went back to enter dynamics. When I drag one, it gets placed on top of the lyrics and it's very difficult and in most places impossible to move by dragging. (The cursor grabs the word instead of the dynamic.) I use "x" with articulation marks but that doesn't work with dynamics. Any suggestions?

Style → Text... → Dynamics → Offset, Vertical -> -3 (or some such)

Style → Text Style → Dynamics, make your adjustments and save as a template or style.
