Dynamics not working, all is super loud
I was using MuseScore 1.3, had scores there. MS 1.3 stopped working so I installed 2.0.2. Read my scores and they were whacked, volume and slowstrings I have to change as expected, but the notes were all there, I didn't lose that. Problem is, I applied dynamics, but it doesn't change volume. Everything is still super loud, and the old edit properties feature on right-click is gone so Dynamics is all I have, why doesn't it work? HELP!!! I have to get this score running ASAP, I mean, ASAP!!! HELP!!!!

Click on the dynamic symbol in the score;
Open Inspector (F8) set the Velocity:

That worked! I have a lot of work to do now! :) Hundreds of minutes of scores that have to be changed. There's no ease converter from 1.3 to 2.02, is there?
If your problem is only the playback volume in your own computer, hit F11 to bring up the mixer, then adjust the volume there.
If you problem is a lack of dynamic differences throughout the score, right click on a dynamic mark, click on Select>All Similar Elements and then hit Delete to erase them all. You will have to go back and replace the dynamic marks manually, but if the marks from 1.3 were corrupted when the score was opened in 2.0.2, I think you will have no choice but to re-do them.
Note: Save an unaltered copy of the original 1.3 file under a new name before modifying it with 2.0; that way if something goes haywire you can at least start over with that safety file.
I don't know how well velocities/dynamics are ported from 1.3 to 2.x, but before throwing them all out, it might be worth trying to reset the specific note velocities (which override the ones set by dynamics).
1. Select all notes (Ctrl-A, then in the bottom of the inspector click on 'Notes')
2. Just below the play checkbox, there is a dropdown for velocity type and a velocity numeric input field, press the reset arrows button to the right of them.

I have been trying to figure this out for hours, thanks for the help :)
Hey Thanks JeeTEE, your suggestion to use the Inspector and reset values, that worked for me! I had downloaded a score from musecore.com, it had no dynamics in it, but did not respond when I added my own dynamics. Now I have so dynamic! Wow! So helpfulness!
