Variable note-head size for double-stop notation
I am transcribing violin music with double stopping. Often there is a emphasis on one note in a double stop and it is standard practice to notate the weaker note with a smaller note-head. Musescore doesn't seem to have this capacity although you can adjust the colour/shading of the note-head or change its type (eg. from a crotchet to a minim).
It would be excellent if note-head size was adjustable. Are there plans for this?
thanks

Are you saying that the "small" property in the note properties dialog (right click a note to display) doesn't work for this purpose, or had you not tried this? I could imagine it not working for just one note of a chord. Ut instead affecting the whole chord (I'm away from my computer and can't easily try). If it depoes turn out that this property affects the whole chord, then I'd enter the chord as two separate voices, flipping stems and manually positioning things as necessary to make it look lime a single chord.

Yes, that's what i forgot to mention. When small is selected in note properties all the notes in the same chord are affected (I'm using version 1.1 on Ubuntu/linux). So that should be the feature request - to fix this aspect.
Thanks a lot for your reply and the suggestion of a second voice. Will try this. Cheers

Doesn't seem to work. For example, if i have a pair of double-stopped quavers sharing the same cross-bar (sorry i forget the name for it) and with the first chord containing the first D and A above middle C and then the second with the first F and A above middle C, I wind up with two cross bars linking the double-stops.
OK - one of the cross-bars can be made invisible, but then after the note-heads in the second voice are made small, one has to move the upright bars (tail?) of these notes to the right. This can be done however the shrunken note-heads are left stranded off to the left and I can't figure out how to move them (nor the crossbar which is also offset to the left).

Doubleclick a note and you will enter Edit mode.
You can then move the note with the arrow keys.

Thanks. It's pretty fiddly work though when there's a lot of double stopping to transcribe. Hope one day the developers can make the note size independent of the other notes in chord. Thanks again.

It will be possible in MuseScore 2.0
Adding small noteheads to the notehead palette would provide much more flexibility in managing this situation. This would be a good stopgap measure until fine control of notehead size is provided via 'note properties'.
