The attached document shows the same notes 1 octave apart. Please point me to where the meaning of the colours is explained.
Thanks

Red is outside of the typical range of a professional, yellow is outside of the typical range of an amateur. In most cases this is an approximation. What instrument are you showing in the screen shot?

Its supposed to be for a Male tenor.
When I added the voices, the staff came up with a treble clef with an 8 under it. I changed that to Bass clef, which I am familiar with and entered the notes. That is the result.

Is there a reference to this in the handbook? I looked in voices, but could find no reference.

I guess it is a new feature in RC1 for version 0.9.5.

Xavierjazz, are you sure you changed it to bass clef? My guess is you accidentally used bass clef 15ma. Do you see a number above the clef symbol?

I didn't look carefully - you are right.
