My latest video tutorial on Page Formatting up for preview at YouTube

• Mar 22, 2012 - 03:23

Finally managed to get this completed :)

It's not completely live yet as I haven't got the narration script uploaded to my website yet.

But if you want a preview you can view this at:

It will be going out for general release sometime tomorrow I hope.

Constructive comments welcome :)

Hi. I watched your video. Nice job, congratulations. Thanks for your contribution and to all others.

I found the whole explanation of frames very helpful.

I guess there's still such a long way to go for the program, but I am astounded by how great it already is. So useful.

Regards,

It's good - and is very clear on the slightly confusing "horizontal frame" vs. "vertical frame" distinction. The only thing I am unclear about following a first viewing is why you decided to add frames to the start and end of each line of music. Was it just as an example of using frames, or are you recommending doing this as part of the process of making the score look as you want it to? That may well clear up on a second viewing; it's not something I have found necessary as line breaks work fine without the frames and I find MuseScore does a pretty good job on layout most of the time.

It was an example of using frames to format the score without altering margin settings, which you sometimes want to do.

It's not something you would do in every score.

But the hymntune format I was doing in the video does lend itself to that particular use of frames, where sometimes you want the text block to begin closer to the margin than the lines of music.

The video is now also embedded on my website and the narration transcript available for those who find my regional accent a problem :)

It is now marked for public viewing on YouTube.

Any queries - post here :)
