Selection modes
Hello,
I found out that selecting individuals by holding 'Ctrl' – does work with lyrics / notes / measures.
But - selecting range of lyrics by holding 'Shift' doesn't work, but do work with notes and measures.
This feature will be very useful for me.

Not the solution you're looking for, but perhaps an easy enough workaround for now:
Do Shift+select on the notes from which you want the lyrics selected. Notice how the lyrics are included in the selection. Now right-click a lyric and use the appropriate command in the Select submenu to select elements of the same type within the previously made selection.

Yes, this is the way to do things. Ranges are by definition everything in the range, so first select the range, then the Select menu to limit selection to just lyrics or whatever. Also, see View / Selection Filter for additional commands for controlling selection.
