[SOLVED] How to Extend Duration of Some Chord Notes
Sorry if this newcomer question has already been asked and answered but I have looked and searched and can't find the answer - probably because it's obvious and staring me in the face.
As a simple example of what I referred to in the Subject line: If I have a simple C E G triad and want the C to be a half note and the E and G to be quarter notes as the first notes of a quarter note triplet, how to enter that?
Thank you.

Received an automated reply that directed me to Voices (a term new to me) and that cleared up a lot. However, if you look at the attached screenshot, the stems and bracket are a mess to look at. How to get them properly aligned? Thank you.

Select a note in the triplet, press "x". Then select one of the two half notes and press x again. You are done.
When working with voices try to use the first voice for the highest notes. That way the stems will point in the correct direction right away.
