the thing to add notes, rests, etc. disappeared. how do i get it back
i need to add notes but the toolbar (? disappeared after i clicked something and\d i don't know how to get it back

Right click the top of the MuseScore window
or try: https://musescore.org/en/handbook/revert-factory-settings

If you are not on a mac then right click to the right of help and check note input to display the toolbar. This will prevent other changes you made from being reverted to factory settings.
