Setting words

The control L does not work on notes towards the end of the score as one is working on it. Invoking it causes MuseScore to do one of its trademark jumps to God knows where. I surmise that it will allow Control L insertion of text once the page is complete, as I have had no trouble writing in the words on pp 1 and 2. But it ought not to do this. It ought to allow Control L to work in each and every case or else (much better) it should have a word processing program attached which can be invoked independently of musical constraints.

Can you post a score that demonstrates the problem you are seeing? I have not seen any problems with Ctrl-L itelf anywhere. It is true that lyric extenders (underscores) don't appear to work at first on the *very* last note of a score if it is tied - the extender does not appear immediately upon typing the underscore. But it does show up next time the score is re-laid out. Is this perhaps what you are referring to?

Also, not sure what you mean about "jumps to god knows where" - I've never seen anything like that either. So if you have a specific problem to report other than whatever you are seeing with Ctrl-L, you might want to report it - particularly if you see the same behavior in the nightly builds for 2.0.

I have also never seen Ctrl-L fail at any times, and nearly all of the pieces I work on have lyrics. One jarring thing that can happen is that the score will re-layout when you go to add lyrics to a line that doesn't have any, pushing that system to a new page but not repositioning the screen to the cursors new position.

I only have two lines of music, and have put the first of 5 verses under the music, but to use the rest of the otherwise white page, how can I put in the other 4 verses.

Yes, in fact I often use the frame generated by the Create Score dialogue to make a title page and then add a frame after it to add information at the start of the music.

Or you can simply stretch the existing frame and add frame text for your epigraph
