D.C Al Coda and Coda

• Feb 22, 2013 - 15:28

Writing a score that has multiple repeats like 7 or so and at the end a D.C Al coda to go to the beginning.
However, the repeats including voltas are all skipped when going back to the beginning, instead it just chugs along and skips it all until it reaches Coda.

Voltas ARE active! You should mark them properly. Nothing prevents you from putting number 1 in the first volta and number 2 and 3 in the second volta, if the repeat is omitted after DC or DS. And if you're supposed to do the repeat after DC or DS, put number 1 and 3 in the first volta and number 2 and 4 in the second volta. If that's too ugly, simply add "con rep" or "senza rep" after the DC/DS thing.
What MuseScore does in playback is certainly NOT a convention, namely playing through everything like there were no repeats or voltas at all.

Was trying to minimize number of pages to 4-5, it'll probably have to be more as the the other 3 pages have to be duplicated
if the voltas won't repeat, it just seems really redundant. It would be great if in the D.C al coda options has a "honour voltas" or something like that.

Thanks again.
