SFZ example and comparison
Here are links to a piano piece generated with the Salamander sfz sound font in Musescore 2.0 and the same score with an sf2 sound font in 1.3. Both examples are without reverb and, in the case of the sfz example, with no A or B effect. This example uses a constant dynamic for both staves. The sfz example is at: sfz example. Hmm... It appears that 2.0 doesn't (accurately? consistently?) honor the settings from the master effects panel when creating an audio export such as a wav file. If someone can confirm this, I'll post a bug report.

The export audio feature will use the settings of the score if you saved them in the score in Synthesizer->save. If not available, it will use the one stored in MuseScore (with the store button in synthesizer). If none is stored, it will the default one. Maybe it should use the current one even if not saved.
Also keep in mind that a peak normalization is applied to the exported audio.

The default setting of the master effects panel wasn't too much to my liking, but the following adjustment sounds a lot better (to my ears): Use the zeta1 for effect A and no effect for B. Set the output to a setting just between the minimum (dry) and the first division mark greater than minimum. Leave all the rest of the settings at their defaults.
These settings still produce an “organ grinder” cast to the result rather than the purer tone that I thought I would obtain, but maybe that is a matter of my inexperience in setting the dials in the master effects panel. (The sfz example in the initial post of this thread is now the one with these altered settings.)
