Page Numbers
Can page numbers be enhanced so that it doesn't just show
the single digit page number but
1/6, 2/6 etc where there are 6 pages in the music. (another option would be to have 1 of 6; 2 of 6 etc)

This is already possible in 2.0, check the nightly builds. It uses placeholders for page numbers in the header/footer of a pages, $p for page number and $n for the number of the page, so $p/$n should fit your needs.
I'm a very new user of MuseScore. I currently use V1.3 and regularly check for updates but the system tells me I have the latest version. So I'm a bit confused when you tell me "This is there in V2". When is V2 available for general release?
How can I get a copy of V2 to look at?
Is it possible to run V1.3 and v2 on the same machine?
Are the files from the two systems compatible?

2.0 is not available for general used, but is available for testing. It is available from the download page (scroll down there), you can run both in paralell. 2.0 opens all 1.x score, but not vice versa.
