midi input issues

• Dec 4, 2009 - 00:18

G'day Werner and all you good folks ;) you can all feel very proud of MuseScore.

One important issue for me is the way midi input doesn't advance when notes are input. when a key is depressed i expect a note of the same pitch to be input, and of the selected or prescribed duration, to be written to the score and then the cursor should advance to the next integer position on the canvas for the next note input. this doesn't happen on my system (Linux). currently subsequent notes are grouped in chord formation around a central stem. should this be happening? i see that the CTRL key is supposed to be used for chords, but is that only for mouse/keyboard input? is midi input limited to single notes followed by mouse/keyboard movement of ther cursor ? i hope that is not the case, but if it is can it be changed? i find it quite unituitive. have i missed something?

best,

geoff.

I also am having this issue using version 0.9.6

MuseScore happily accepts input from my keyboard, but only adds the new note to the currently selected one (making a chord). If I have no chord selected, I get a "No Note Selected" error.
