Multiple voices on drum notation?

I've looked around to no avail. The voices section and the drum notation section both don't work. I'd like to know if this is even possible or I'm just seriously misunderstanding something.

I want to have a snare drum play on the eighth note rests between the bass drums. I'm sure the solution is right under my nose but I think the help from here would be useful.

Snare would normally be in voice 1. So if you want it on, for instance, the "&" of 1, you need to change the quarter note hi hat you already have on 1 to an eighth. And similarly in other places. In the second bar you simply need to add the snare to the existing hi hat notes, since they are already on the desired beats.
