Entering lyrics when using Voice 1 and 2
I am trying to add lyrics when the measure uses both Voice 1 and Voice 2.
I choose the A at the begging of the measure, enter lyric mode and type in "Moth"
I hit the - key and it takes me to the chord (A and A) and I enter "er". The hyphen is automatically inserted
I hit the space bar and it takes me to the next chord (G and G) and I enter "Mar"
I hit the - key and it takes me to the next chord (F and F) and I enter "y". The hyphen is automatically inserted
So far all of my entered lyrics are associated with notes/chords in Voice 1. I am in lyric mode and the cursor is sitting on the chord F and F and I have already entered the "y". I want to enter the next lyric under the single eighth note F that follows but it is in Voice 2. If I hit the space bar it take me to the next note in Voice 1 which is in the next measure (not shown). How can I do this?

Don't use voice 2 in that case in the first place. See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/voices

I am not sure how I enter just this one measure using just Voice 1. I have a chord part way through the measure that is made up of two half notes, both of them F's. The lower F is played with the pinky while the upper F is played with the thumb. The lower F then carries through the rest of the measure (pinky stays down) with the thumb lifting up twice to hit the upper F. The only way I could figure out how to do this was to use Voice 2. If you have another method that only uses Voice 1, let me know

Just do it, rather than hiding voice 1 rests.
Every staff (!) has (up to) 4 voices, always start with voice 1, in every staff.

I copied and pasted the entire measure to a new measure and then deleted the notes/chords on the second half of the measure giving me this
I then went into note editing mode and entered the chord with the two F half notes using Voice 1. The note entry cursor jumps to the next measure as shown below because the chord made up of two F half notes completed the measure
Of course, here is where I went to end up, just not sure how to do this without using Voice 2 for the last two F eighth notes with the eighth rest in between
Of course one way to handle this is to jump out of lyric mode after putting in the lyrics to about the half way point in the measure. Select the eighth F note which is in Voice 2 and then jumping back into lyric mode. This is just a lot of jumping in and out of lyric mode

There are still hidden rests. You don't need those. Use Tools > Voices > Swap voice 1 and 2

I see Tool...Voices...Exchange Voice 1 and 2. This can only be done for an entire measure. It just
Takes all the notes in Voice 1 and changes them to Voice 2
Takes all the notes in Voice 2 and changed them to Voice 1
I then just tried entering the entire measure from the beginning just using Voice 1. I got to this point easily but I think I am already off track. The first low A is a quarter note. The second upper A is an eighth note. The low A quarter note needs to carry through the eighth note and it appears like it is not doing that. In other words I strike the low A with my pinky and keep it down and then strike the upper A with my thumb.
This is where I want to end up

That is not going to fit.
But this is:
2 voices
But maybe you need 3 voices?

Correct, it will fit with 2 voices though. Below is what I already have in Musescore using two voices. The three stand alone eighth notes (A at the beginning and two Fs at the end), are all using Voice 2 while everything else is using Voice 1. I think this is the only way to show a piano note that carries through a few beats at the same time another piano note is being played on the same hand.

It is 3 voices as far as singers are concerned though

I cannot think of any way to put in the notes/chords using one voice making it easier then to continuously type in lyrics. This means I just need to jump out of lyric mode, choose a note in Voice 2 and jump back into lyric mode.

This is what you might need to do then. But is seems a tell tale sign that you'd rather notate it on different staves
