Not all staves play on opening and I'm unable to export all sounds to MP3
Only some of my staves will play back when I open a score. For Example if I have a score with 3 stave: piano (treble) horn and xylophone.
On opening the score only the horn part will sound on playback. If I click on a note in the other part then I can hear them all on playback.
If I "export" to an mp3 file, only the horn part will play.
This problem only occurred after I downloaded the latest update for Musescore 3.
I uninstalled and re downloaded Musescore 3 and the problem has not resolved.

Reverting to factory is much more likely to help than reinstalling.
You'd also need to share the score here

I've sent a short score which is an example of the problem.

All 3 play back for me, in MuseScore and the mp3
Check the mixer, whether you muted/soloed something

Hi Jojo,
Thanks for attending to this problem so far. My problem has not resolved.
When I open the attached file "Chinese Lady Plays Harp" the Xylophone and Dulcimer do not play. If I click on a note of the score of those instruments they will then play. If I close the file and re-open it those same instruments will not play again. That wouldn't be a big problem for me but I'm when I "export" to an mp3 file those instruments do not sound when the mp3 file is played (same problem is I export as a WAV file.)
I can't attach the mp3 file to demonstrate because this program will not accept mp3 and the file exceeds the attachable size.
The inability to export to mp3 or wav, is a real problem for me because 1). I'm writing a sound track for a video and I can't send an mp3 of the music. and 2). I'm in a music tutorial and I can't share my music for my teacher and fellow students to listen to. Chinese Lady Plays Harp.mscz
BTW the problem is only with scores created since the update. My previously created scores still play normally.

Check the Mixer, Xylophone is turned down volume wise, but does sound. Dulicimer does sound on my machine too
In reply to Check the Mixer, Xylophone… by Jojo-Schmitz
Hi Jojo. Thanks for persisting.
I had turned the Xylophone down because it is too loud relative to the other instruments. The Dulcimer was at 100.
Turning the Xylophone back up to 100 and changing the dynamics to "f" made no difference to to the problem. All the other instruments are "loud and clear" on playback. (Some of them have volume adjustments in the mixer).
I've closed and opened the new file and there is still no sound from the Dulcimer or Xylophone. ( unless I click on one of the notes in the score to restore the sound.) Incidentally it doesn't matter which stave of the Dulcimer I click on. Both staves "come to life" after clicking on one note on either stave.
Unfortunately when I export the new file to mp3 - No Xylophone sound and no Dulcimer sound.
The fact that it plays on your computer and I can recover the sound by clicking on a note, suggests to me there is a switch or setting somewhere in my program that just needs to be switched to enable playback and export. I just have no idea where that could be.
I just exported the file as midi file. Result: the Dulcimer and Xylophone parts are heard on playing the midi file, but the sound fonts are nothing like what I'm after. (wav file export is still the same result as am mp3 export)
I've attached the previously sent, file with the mixer and dynamic changes (and cut it down to the first few pages to make it smaller and quicker to load).

I'd be happy to email the mp3 file if you want to verify what I am saying about the export problem.

Revert to factory settings.
Check the mixer, many instruments are not at their default volume
It does play perferctly on my machine though

Hi Jojo,
That worked. (Reverted to Factory Setting)
Thank you so much.
In the process I've lost some sound fonts, but I expect I'll be able to replace them.

Those Soundfonts might have been the culprit though

I did have that thought as well. But I have been using them for about a year. During that time I've not had the problems you have been helping me with. I'm really keen to get back the increased number of instruments and some of the range of sound qualities they provided. If the problem recurs I'll try reverting to factory settings again.
Thanks again,
Graeme.
